New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church

We welcomed The Rev. C. Eugene Brocks and the members of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church on February 7, 2016. In December, their church burned to the ground in Wilmington. St. Stephen's invited New Jerusalem to share our building while they raise funds to rebuild their church. Read a News Journal story about our partnership here.

New Jerusalem has not been worshiping since the start of the shelter-in-place period.

As a Reconciling in Christ congregation of the ELCA, we believe that the gospel is God's gift to all people, shared unconditionally and without regard to race, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic or family status, age, physical or mental abilities, outward appearance, or religious affiliation. We seek to live the truth written in Ephesians that Christ breaks down the dividing walls between us and makes us one.
