Worship in the Lutheran church is closely tied to music.

Martin Luther gave importance to congregational and choral singing. This new importance of music in the church gave rise to prominent musicians such as Dietrich Buxtehude and Johann Sebastian Bach.

Music plays an important role in the life of St. Stephen's worship. The need to go to on-line worship has limited the amount of music we can use during worship. We continue, however, to enjoy the musical leadership of our Cantor, Oksana Glouchko, with music before and after the worship service, as well as hymns which reflect the theme of the worship service.
